This is us – the Centurion Towerhotel

The Centurion Towerhotel with its 66 top modern rooms is located on the ground to 2nd floor of the Centurion Tower right next to the Brugg train station and the Brugg-Windisch campus. Half of our rooms have apartment infrastructure with kitchenette, which makes them especially suitable for longer stays.

In addition to the hotel business our Steakhouse Ignis Grill & Wine invites you to cozy evenings – also for external guests. First-class products for best possible results. This is the philosophy in our young and modern Ingis Grill & Wine, which opened slightly late on June 1, 2021 due to the Corona pandemic. The Ignis offers culinary highlights for everyone, but meat lovers will especially enjoy our menu.

Meet our director

Sandra Schuler

After several years of professional experience in gastronomy, hotel and system catering, Sandra Schuler took over as director of the Centurion Towerhotel at the age of 31. Growing up in a family of restaurateurs, being a hotel manager was and still is the fulfillment of a childhood dream for her. Sandra has been with us since the beginning, was instrumental in setting up and establishing all the processes and she shapes the Centurion Towerhotel with her passion as a hostess.

Appreciation, harmony, team spirit and fairness are particularly important to our director. She is proud of her Centurion team, with whom she has made the Centurion Towerhotel what it is today since its opening.

Sandra’s enjoyment of working on the front lines with guests and staff is also noteworthy. When asked when she is happiest at work, she modestly replies, “when the whole team is happy and the guest is happy, too.”

The Centurion Towerhotel suits Sandra Schuler: trendy, optimistic, powerful and innovative.

Our team

The Centurion Towerhotel team includes about 18 people in the areas of service, kitchen, reception and housekeeping.

“What sets us apart is not only our professional competence, but also our humanity.” This is how the hotel manager describes her team. Most of the employees have been with the hotel since it opened and contribute significantly to the good atmosphere within the team on a daily basis.

Our young team is especially characterized by the fact that most of them – no matter in which position – are very young and have just completed their apprenticeship. It is our concern to encourage and challenge the young people and to go the way with them. Every day we offer our guests our best possible.

As director, I would like to give the team something interesting, varied, a lot of appreciation and fairness every day.

Meet our chef

Marco von Arx

Marco von Arx’s culinary journey also began as a child, when at the age of six he was allowed to prepare French fries in his uncle’s restaurant kitchen. This experience was the trigger for his career.

During 10 years Marco proved himself after his apprenticeship in various restaurants in Switzerland. From a small business with 30 seats to system catering in a private clinic. When Marco took on his first executive position at the age of 20, he discovered his joy for the creative part of cooking: bringing his own ideas to the plate. Soon after, one of his appetizers made it into the Gault Millau gourmet guide with praise, which fully lit his fire. And surely there is enough fire at the Ignis (Ignis = Latin for fire).

Marco is a cook with heart and soul. He creates his food in his mind, he can smell and taste his ideas, imagine textures and develop the presentation long before he stands at the stove.

In addition to his job as a chef, Marco is an avid content creator on Tiktok and Instagram. He inspires his more than 50,000 followers with his extremely likeable recipe videos and has had his own line of spices called flavr since 2021.
